For a while my personal site lived on Wix. It served its purpose — but I’d been wanting more control, faster pages, cleaner code, and honestly a lower recurring cost. So I’ve spend two weekends ago to move it.
The site you’re on now is built with Astro, hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and deployed from a Git repository I own. Everything is static, fast, and mine.
The small experiment
Here’s the part I want to be open about: I built this whole thing with Claude by Anthropic as my collaborator. The design direction, the code, the deployment setup, even the editing of the first post — done in conversation with an AI assistant, over a series of sessions.
I wanted to see what it’s like to actually ship a real project with an LLM in the loop. Not a toy, not a demo — my personal website, published to my own domain, with my name on it. Two goals:
- Understand these tools deeply. As someone leading engineering teams, I need a first-hand feel for how AI collaboration actually works in practice — the good, the awkward, and the surprising.
- Save some money. No Wix subscription. Cloudflare Pages is free. The only cost now is my
.sgdomain renewal.
I’ll write more about the experience in a future post — what worked well, what didn’t, and what a senior executive who still codes should take away from working this way.
And the real point
The site is also a kickoff.
My first post is a reflection on going back to my university campus twenty-five years after I graduated. Standing there, I left with a renewed sense of optimism — that whatever’s next is more opportunity than obstacle.
It felt right to launch this new place with that piece.
